Photography: The advance in photography meant that real life images were included and lacked the artist's impression of the war.
Telegraphs: Telegraphs allowed faster communication between war generals and their respective presidents.
Tin Cans: Tin Cans made food more accessible to soldiers. Food could be packaged and transported with slower spoiling times. A major turn off of the tin cans was the sacrifice of taste.
Rifles: Rifles were quicker to load and increased the accuracy and speed of impact. This was an advance from muskets.
